Scout Buck Program
The Scout Buck Program is a method for the scouts to earn points (bucks) to be used at an equipment auction at the end of the year. Participation in activities, campouts and meetings earn scout bucks, as well as recruitment, leadership positions and training. Click Here for a list of all qualifying activities and their point values.
The Scout Buck Auction is held in December. Following are the guidelines for participating in the Scout Bucks Auction: |
All scouts participating in the Scout Buck auction must have their treasury account in good standing. All dues, camping fees, food reimbursements, etc. must be paid in full prior to the date of the auction.

To take part in the auction, a scout must participate in troop fundraisers. Each scout must participate in the sale of Scout Show tickets and/or popcorn, earning a minimum of 200 points (approximately $50.00 for the troop), using the following point system: |
- Scout Show: Every Scout Show ticket is sold for $10 and is worth 10 points. For example, a scout who sells 20 Scout Show tickets has earned 200 points (20 X $10 = 200). The troop will receive approximately $50.00 from this scout’s efforts. |
- Popcorn: Every $1.00 worth of popcorn sold is worth 1 point. For example, a scout who sells $200.00 worth of popcorn has earned 200 points, and approximately $50.00 for the troop. |
- Scouts may sell Scout Show tickets and/or popcorn alone or in combination, as long as a total of 200 points is accrued.

Scouts must be present in order to participate in the Scout Bucks auction. Any exceptions must be approved by the scoutmaster at least 24 hours in advance. The scout is then responsible to arrange for an adult proxy to bid for him. Another Scout may not bid for another Scout under any circumstance. This includes siblings. This can be a family member or another scout’s parent who is attending, but each proxy may only bid for one scout. The scout should provide a written list of desired items to the proxy. |
